About the Work:
The pandemic has made us vitally aware of the air that surrounds us. The Space Between offers a place to pause, created through the articulation of the space outside a 6-foot radius. The pieces are imagined in travertine and cast glass, materials which withstand the test of time and have been part of civic furniture for centuries. The Space Between aims to recreate social proximity by providing gathering space for humans in a time when the distance between bodies is in question.
