About the Work:
The Ol' Ball and Chain is a rooftop swing-set built into the skyline. It is bound to the earth with a 120-pound cast concrete orb and solid steel triangle. With feet pumping into the firmament, the ability to launch yourself over the city offers a brief moment of levity during this particularly heavy year. The swinging and the swing-set together represent a small act of playful rebellion.
