When I was in high school, I drew a series of writing chairs that were intended to be installed in public parks. These were to be massive sculptural works, perching writers high above the ground. Writing Chair #1 is a continuation of that series.
About the Studio:
Birnam Wood Studio treats functionality as a ground plane for aesthetic play. Produced through experiment and experience, through mallet and chisel, drawing on fine craft and restless exploration, the studio’s works are the culmination of many collisions. Birnam is directed by Brecht Wright Gander.
